As with Unit One, Unit Two has a fairly large amount of information to learn, so we will be spending around three weeks on it as well. As with Unit One, I need for you to send me a short video of you signing the vocabulary for Unit Two to ensure accuracy. There are three ways to this:
1. You can email me the video as an attachment or upload it into your Dropbox folder (if you have done this).
2. You can FaceTime with me (by appointment).
3. You can record and post an "unlisted" video on YouTube and send me the link.
Assignments for this unit:
* Learn the Unit Two vocabulary. There is an embedded video toward the bottom of the page.
* Click the button just above the videos at the bottom of the page and read the information about the items listed for Unit Two in the syllabus. There is some good information about ASL and the Deaf community.
* Click the button just above the videos at the bottom of the page for Handout #2 and read the information.
* Continue to study the alphabet and numbers (from Unit One) as we will begin using fingerspelling more and more.
* When you have completed the assignments above and feel pretty good about what you have learned, you can click on the embedded YouTube video (28:18) at the bottom of the page. It is a discussion between Dr. Bill and one of his students. It is very clear, although fast. Even if you don't understand something he is saying, focus on the text on the screen behind him, and it will make sense.
* There are "practice sentences" at the bottom of the page. There is currently no video, because I want you to try them out on your own. I will add a video in a week for you to check yourself!
